How CBD Works:
CBD works with the human body’s system called the endocannabinoid system (ECS).
The body produces endocannabinoids, which are neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors in your nervous system that can affect a number of functions including sleep, appetite, pain and immune system response.
Studies have shown that CBD may help reduce chronic pain by impacting endocannabinoid receptor activity, reducing inflammation and interacting with neurotransmitters.
Finding Your Ideal CBD Dosage
There is no hard and fast rule for dosage amounts for CBD as there are a number of factors that can affect your results which can include:
1. Your body size and chemical makeup.
Body weight and type will have an effect on the amount of CBD required.
2. The nature and severity of your condition.
Each one of us can experience different levels of pain. As well, there are individual pain tolerances. CBD has an impact on our body’s endocannabinoid system receptors to reduce chronic pain, inflammation and other conditions that these receptors influence.
Because of these factors dosage strength and amount is a testing process. We currently have 4 different levels of CBD strength: 350mg; 550mg; 1000mg; and 2500mg.
3. The CBD strength.
For moderate Anxiety, Stress, and Pain Management you may find the 350mg or the 550mg is adequate.
For chronic pain, depression, arthritis, anxiety and stress that disrupts your sleep, the 1000mg is recommended.
If you have severe arthritis, severe back, shoulder and knee pain, or other medical conditions such as diabetes, MS, Parkinson’s, etc., the 2500mg is recommended in dosage amounts starting at .25ml and up to 1ml every 4 hours.
You may need to test different amounts and strengths so you will need to monitor/record both the amount and strength of the CBD product taken and your results.
Medical Studies have shown Cannabidiol (CBD) liquid has been proven to be an effective anti-seizure medication for Epilepsy.
CBD Dosage Tips:
Be Consistent: You should establish a routine and take the same amount at the same time daily. Depending on the problem you have you may want to take CBD in the morning or evening before bedtime.
The affects of CBD last approximately 3 to 4 hours so if you have a chronic condition you can take it four times daily.
Dose at Night: A possible side effect of CBD oil is drowsiness, so it might be best to start out by dosing at night.
Start a Journal: Since dosage amounts may be a test, you should document the amount and time of day along with the results you experience. You may want to increase your dosage, strength and/or the number of times you take it in a day. Having a journal will help you determine what is right for you.
As with any new supplement or lifestyle change, be sure to consult your physician or health care professional before introducing CBD into your wellness routine.
Different Types of CBD Dosage:
CBD generally follows three dose ranges. Smaller doses can stimulate the body, while larger doses can help sedate the body. We offer four potency options to give our customers the freedom to customize their wellness routine.
How To Take CBD:
The Sublingually (under tongue) method is one of the quickest ways for CBD to be absorbed directly into your bloodstream.
- Fill the dropper to the desired amount
- Drop your CBD oil directly under your tongue; hold for approximately 60 seconds, then swallow.
Taking CBD orally is the slowest route for the compound to reach its targets, but it’s also the longest period of time that it will remain active making this method best for long-term supplementation.
Topical CBD (salves) can be massaged into your skin for localized relief in muscles, joints, inflammatory cells, and for throbbing pain. Very little, if any, enters the bloodstream.
What Will Happen If You Take Too Much CBD Oil?
CBD is considered safe and non-toxic. However it could potentially lower your blood pressure. CBD can also interfere with your body’s ability to process certain pharmaceutical drugs or interact with prescription drugs you may be currently taking. If you are on a medication you should consult a doctor.
Pet Dosing Guidelines
These are guidelines and will depend on the nature of your pet’s condition and severity of pain. We suggest you start with the lowest dosage and monitor your pet’s reaction, while keeping a journal to reference back on your dosing.
REGULAR Dose: is used for daily health and wellness. CBD may help boost your pet’s immune system, help them better cope with old age, allergies and minor skin conditions. CBD has been known to stimulate appetite, help alleviate minor stress and anxiety, improve digestive issues and nausea, ease moderate arthritis and joint inflammation as well as minor aches and pains.
STRONG Dose: If your pet has chronic pain, severe arthritis & joint inflammation, mobility issues, epileptic seizures, cancer-related symptoms, tumors, severe anxiety, extreme nausea, or vomiting we suggest using a stronger dosage. You must monitor your pet’s condition when increasing the dosage amount and/or its frequency.
Dosing Frequency: CBD can be administered every 8 hours or as needed to control pain and inflammation. To control anxiety, try giving your pet a CBD dose 30 minutes before an event that might cause anxiety.
